Partner Overview

QuickSwap is the premier DEX & AMM on Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM, Immutable zkEVM, Astar zkEVM, Manta Pacific, Dogechain, and X1 Network (testnet). It offers users the ability to swap, provide liquidity, farm, stake, and engage in perpetual swaps quickly and with minimal transaction fees. As a cornerstone of the DragonFi ecosystem, QuickSwap goes beyond traditional DeFi, offering products like a decentralized Perpetual Exchange and a Gaming Hub.

In September 2023, Manta Network launched MantaFest, a five-week celebration marking the Alpha launch of the Manta Pacific Mainnet, hosted by Galxe. The event featured various DeFi activities, including QuickSwap’s onchain tasks, offering participants the chance to earn up to 160 Galxe Points, mint exclusive NFTs, and showcase their early involvement in the Manta Pacific ecosystem. QuickSwap was responsible for distributing 50K $MANTA to participants who completed these challenges.

The Problem

The campaign anticipated up to 10,000 participants across three quests. With limited resources and a lack of advanced data analytics capabilities within the QuickSwap marketing team, a critical question emerged:

How to make the campaign’s reward distribution as fair and transparent as possible, while avoiding payouts to bot farms and Sybil attackers?

QuickSwap devised several tasks to monitor users’ onchain activity. To qualify for Galxe points and the $MANTA airdrop, users had to complete at least one of the following tasks:

  • Execute 5 swaps
  • Complete 1 swap
  • Provide $100 in liquidity for over 7 days

Notably, there were no tasks involving social media verifications, a common but often ineffective tactic for boosting engagement. Sybil attackers typically exploit such campaigns by creating multiple accounts and wallet addresses. Social media verification can also lead to doxxing, which Nomis opposes as it conflicts with the principles of web3.

The Solution

At Nomis, we believe that onchain data alone is sufficient to distinguish real contributors from bot farms. We provided QuickSwap with data analytics and a wallet scoring system to refine the participant list for MantaFest. This was achieved by offering insights into the historical onchain activities of wallet addresses.

In addition to providing crucial data points, we conducted a Sybil detection analysis and generated a comprehensive report. The Nomis Scoring Model uses a logarithmic function for reward distribution, benefiting every participant and offering more rewards for onchain power users.

This approach provided QuickSwap with two levels of Sybil resistance:

  1. Multichain Score Assessment: We assess wallet onchain activity across Polygon, Ethereum, and BSC, assigning a Multichain Score from 0–100. A score of 30 is the minimum for campaign participation, indicating a low likelihood of being a Sybil.
  2. SBT Minting: Participants must mint a Soulbound Token (SBT) on the Nomis platform, with a nominal fee to deter Sybil farms from validating their onchain reputation and authenticity. Nomis streamlined the process by providing comprehensive user reports based on the Scoring Model, eliminating the need for manual participant vetting.

The Results

QuickSwap successfully distributed rewards in a fair, transparent, and ROI-efficient manner, based on onchain reputation. The airdrop was allocated as follows:

  • Tier 1: 7,500 MANTA for providing $100 in liquidity over 7 days
  • Tier 2: 35,000 MANTA for completing 5 swaps
  • Tier 3: 7,500 MANTA for completing 1 swap

Duplicate wallets were excluded; participants were only considered once for the highest tier task they completed. Additionally, Multichain Score holders received a 10% bonus, enhancing their rewards.

Nomis enabled QuickSwap to identify valuable and active users, providing better incentives to loyal community members and protecting the campaign from Sybil attackers. 1_N4opOdtn2-qcMv7CpScHCw.webp

Feedback

QuickSwap expressed excitement about using Nomis’ Sybil protection in Galxe campaigns. The collaboration increased the number of loyal Dragon community members across both social and onchain quests. The technology fostered a new era of Web3 transparency, ensuring real users exploring DeFi were appropriately rewarded.

“The dragons look forward to continuing the collaboration with Nomis for future initiatives!” said Sameep Singhania, QuickSwap Core Contributor.
